Woodland Pathways Ltd provides specialist alternative education and wellbeing provision for children and young people from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5, as well as adults, with a primary focus on those with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges.
Our provision delivers academically informed, nature-based and biophilic learning experiences, led by qualified and experienced teachers and practitioners. Sessions are tailored to individual need and are offered predominantly on a 1:1 basis, with small group delivery where appropriate.
Woodland Pathways supports emotional wellbeing, resilience and self-esteem, alongside personal growth and life skills development, through a trauma-informed and relational approach. The provision also enables learners to re-engage with education, explore future pathways, and develop aspirations towards further education, training and employment.
Provision is delivered both on-site and through outreach, working in partnership with schools, local authorities and families to provide flexible, inclusive and high-quality day provision.
At Woodland Pathways, we offer far more than alternative provision—we bring together deep educational expertise, specialist training, and a genuine understanding of how children learn best.
With over 20 years of experience across primary, secondary, and specialist SEND settings, our team understands the full educational journey. This breadth of knowledge allows us to meet each individual where they are, whether they need to rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, or access education in a different way.
Our provision is led by fully qualified teachers and practitioners, including staff with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)and Master’s-level qualifications in Education. Our team includes professionals who have worked within Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ settings, bringing that same level of high-quality practice and expectation into Woodland Pathways.
Alongside this, we are highly trained in Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), enabling us to support a wide range of needs with skill, care, and consistency.
What truly sets us apart is our ability to blend academic learning with engaging, hands-on experiences. We don’t separate education from wellbeing—we integrate them. This means children not only continue their academic progress, but also develop confidence, resilience, and the ability to work positively with others.
For schools and local authorities, this ensures a provision that is structured, accountable, and aligned with educational outcomes.
For parents, it means your child is supported by experienced professionals who understand both their learning and emotional needs.
At Woodland Pathways, we create an environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed—academically, socially, and personally.

Our primary learning site spans over 13 acres of diverse landscape, including woodland, open meadows, and the tranquil River Tiffey running through it. This unique setting provides an ideal backdrop for learning — calm, spacious, and rich with opportunity. It allows us to create meaningful, hands-on experiences that support engagement, focus, and wellbeing.

As a mum, I honestly can't speak highly enough about the provision team and the difference they have made for my son. Before, he struggled with confidence, especially in learning environments. But since, I've seen such a positive change in him. He's not only more confident in his learning, but he has grown socially too!

My son, Tommy, was struggling in mainstream school full time -he has ASD, Dyslexia and Speech Difficulties and finding the environment where he was able to thrive was essential.
Tommy worked with Emma, Tom and Andy for two years starting at 1 day and progressing to 2 days a week as this had such a positive impact on Tommy, he was a different child. He had 1-1 support with Emma with his education and his social, emotional and mental health needs. This helped him feel safe, valued and more confident in himself.
He also spent time on a 1-1 basis with Tom and Andy taking part in activities such as bushcraft, gardening and cooking which gave him the opportunities to gain practical life skills. Tommy is now at a specialist setting and is absolutely thriving and this I know would not have been possible without these individuals that worked with him!

We were especially worried about our son because he had always struggled to engage with literacy, and we never imagined he would enjoy learning in that area. However, through their unique learning techniques combined with outdoor education and life skills learning, he has absolutely thrived. He is now working at the expected level for his age, whilst genuinely enjoying the work, something we honestly not have believed possible before.

Andy, Tom and Emma are an amazing combination of caring, engaging and challenging. Their approach has transformed our child's opportunities, and provided him with the platform they needed to regulate, settle and then develop in a way that we always hoped they would!
We were worried how our son would manage as he had not wanted to be away from home, yet he goes with confidence and happy, which is entirely down to the strong, safe and trusting relationships the team have built with him.

Five years ago I was lost and insecure due to broken educational placements. I then started working with Emma, Tom and Andy, they offered support to achieve my personal goals and to focus on building skills for career opportunities. I always felt I was in a "safe pair of hands". I am now a student at NUA, almost finished my first year, feeling happy, confident and thriving. Thank you!

The team have provided a truly personalised approach that aligns closely with my child’s EHCP outcomes. The team take the time to understand his individual needs and adapt activities to support his development both academically and emotionally. We’ve seen significant progress in his confidence, communication, and ability to manage challenges. For the first time, he feels understood and supported in a way that works for him.

I like that we get to do real things, not just sit at a desk. I’ve learned new skills and feel more happy talking to people now.

I have worked in partnership with Tom, Andy and Emma for the past five years and have consistently been impressed by their dedication and professionalism. They strike an excellent balance between nurturing support and strong academic provision, ensuring that learners feel both supported and appropriately challenged in their development.
Their approach fosters a positive, inclusive environment where individuals are valued, respected and encouraged to achieve their full potential. They also provide a wide and engaging range of learning activities, thoughtfully adapted to meet diverse needs and interests, which greatly enhances the overall learning experience.
Tom, Andy, Emma and their team are a highly committed, collaborative and reflective team who continually strive to improve outcomes for all learners, and it has been a genuine pleasure working alongside them. Their communication with partners is clear, proactive and solution focused, and they consistently demonstrate flexibility, creativity and a deep understanding of individual learner needs effectively.

At Woodland Pathways, learning is not one-size-fits-all. We offer a wide range of personalised learning experiences designed to meet each learner’s individual needs, interests, and goals — creating multiple pathways to success.
Our provision is rooted in the power of nature. Set within our outdoor environment, learners engage in meaningful, hands-on experiences that support both academic progress and personal development. For some, this includes more explicit learning activities, with structured support in English, maths, and other curriculum areas from KS2 through to KS5.
For others, learning is embedded more discreetly within practical, engaging activities. Whether building, exploring, or problem-solving outdoors, learners are still developing key skills — often without the pressure of a traditional classroom. They may be applying reading comprehension to follow instructions, using maths to calculate distance, height, and angles, or developing communication and reasoning skills through real-life challenges.
This blended approach allows learners to reconnect with education in a way that feels relevant, achievable, and rewarding. By tailoring experiences to each individual, we support progress not only in academic outcomes, but in confidence, resilience, and a renewed motivation to learn.
At Woodland Pathways, every activity has purpose — and every learner can find their path.
